Well it's been a while, sorry 3 people reading this for some reason. You are the true champions!
I've realigned some goals/timelines as I've done research, as is tradition.
1-Learn about corporate taxes and investing through multiple corporate accounts: 5 / 20 Turns out there's not much to be learned here. I opened more self-directed brokerage accounts, that's about it. It involves a lot of phone calls to people who don't do their job very fast. It will be tax season soon and I will sort more bullshit problems as they come along. I am now also tracking my total spending so that I can adjust my income going forward. How much do I need to actually live and how much will I have left after tax season, after paying the accountants and taxes? That's pretty much it for now, I probably will have to learn how to do most of my taxes later so I don't destroy thousands of dollars in fees every year. Beyond that there's not much to learn as I'm still in the phase of my life where I'm adding to my retirement accounts rather than withdrawing from them, so the investment strategy is fairly simple.
2-Find a place to live: 3 / 20
I got pre-approved for a mortgage, pretty much, giving me a ballpark estimate of 650-750k I could borrow to buy a house. Then I checked the price of rentals that I could tolerate living in. Then I used this: https://www.calculator.net/rent-vs-buy-calculator.html Turns out buying a house is not a super pressing matter or a very good investment.
Until I know where I want to settle or if I have a family/kids, there's zero reason to buy a house. The housing market is also currently batshit crazy so likely everyone is vastly overpaying for what they're getting, making it even less appealing to park a huge portion of my net worth into this one asset. I am staying put here for now but I can move out any time. Waiting for bike season to start up again to get an idea of what area would be best to rent in. A lot of politics are at play right now in this area and with covid still not over so who knows what will happen in the coming months.
3-Put on 10 pounds of muscle
Still working out 6 days a week, 15-60 minutes. Still doing pullups/pushups program, now at +17 pounds of weight in a backpack. I haven't weighed myself at the start of this so I can't really track if I'm gaining muscle haha. I'm taking pictures. You can compare after 1 year and we'll see. Haved upped the amount of D3 that I take daily. Will get more fish oil too as I find I just don't buy any fish here. I just buy big batches of red meat to cook with instead as it's far cheaper. Currently looking into testosterone replacement therapy as something that sounds a little too good to be true. Will keep updated on this and more supplements I might start taking.
4-Get a car: 8 / 20
The maintenance cost of getting a car simply make zero financial sense as long as I can go without one. This will hinge on where I move, which will hinge on where the good biking is around is and who I meet. All I figured so far is that it would be cool to own this obnoxious car:
They cost 20-25k used and are likely a huge money vampire to own. But if I'm going to waste money owning a car, DO IT IN STYLE. I received my BC driver's license now and I've found a few dealers nearby who actually have this car. I might go test drive one for shits and giggles. As for some questions I had: No you can't invest in a car, it's always more work than it's worth. And no you can't buy a car as an "investment" with a holding corporation. You also can't lend money to yourself to buy a house "as an investment". You can however buy magic cards!
5-Discover 50 new songs: 7 / 50 Songs listened to: 140 This is proving to be more of a pain in the ass than I thought. I might get spotify again soon or something because most of the time I've already heard the music that is suggested to me or it's just like smashing dog turds inside my eardrums.
6-Ride a Motorcycle: 4 / 10.
Kind of put a pin in this for now. If a car is useless than this is triple the amount of useless. However I should make a point to just try riding one once. If it's the most fun thing I've ever done in my life I might reconsider, but back of the envelope calculation on the entry price of this hobby is just brutal.
7-Sell one altered Magic: The Gathering card.
I've checked out a few of the artists who do this, some are amazingly good. Of course:

I have no idea how he can paint this level of detail. This week I will start to look into what supplies I need to do tiny acrylic paints. I have to start practicing now to be able to do anything half as good as this guy. In all fairness he's been at it for over 15 years.
8- Keep this blog updated and do a mid-year reassessment.
Ok new rule: I will update this blog every TWO WEEKS. See you SUNDAY THE 21ST at the latest! ---------------------------------------------------NEW GOALS!---------------------------------------------------
9- WORK 7 HOURS A WEEK
I will try to get ahead of the curve and plan future updates for our game ( that just got featured again by Apple btw ). 7 hours a week of actual work does put a decent dent in this and adds some good amount of stuff. Today marks the end of the first week of this, and I did do my 7 hours.
7 hours doesn't sound like a lot but it's pretty concentration-intensive work. I cannot do this 40 hours a week. Never could. No way I could find the willpower to do 40 hours of this and also keep up with everything else in my life.
10- PRACTICE DRAWING 7 HOURS A WEEK
This is what 20 hours of drawing eyes looks like:
I want to get better in general at drawing and it's been a long time since I actually dedicated time to the basics like this. I will do 7 hours of this to start. I think it's enough for now with the other stuff I'm trying to do. I want to feel at the end of the week that I could have done more. Possible future goal would be to set up an etsy store or some kind of art page with these sketches and other artwork I made in the past. Put it all in the same spot. But that'll be for later.
See you next update with more drawings of stuff!
